The giant sandpit will return to Harpur Square for four days 11th - 14th August 2010 for pirate themed seaside related fun and frolics. Thousands of children will take advantage of the warm sunshine to play in the pit, watch punch and judy, and have their faces painted. Below is a prgamme of the events that will be happening across the week.

Punch and Judy
A couple of hundred years ago when people left London for the fresh air and fun of the seaside, Mt Punch followed the crowds. And he’s been following them ever since.
The show will be in the Town Centre for all four days of Bedford by the Sea. There will be four different shows daily with lots of traditional fun and laughter to delight young and old alike. All your favourites will be here, Joey the Clown with his sausages, the Crocodile and the Policeman , Mr Punch of course and his wife Judy and the Baby along with plenty of variety provided by some less familiar and sometimes surprising characters who date back to the earliest days of Punch & Judy.
Mr Punch always feels at home in Bedford by the Sea and can be seen daily at 11.30, 12.45, 2.00 and 3.15.
Each show is different so make sure you see all the shows, Every day!
Fancy Faces will also be on site 12th - 14th with Pirate seaside workshops for the children, all activities are free

This lovely walkabout mascot pirate character is fun and very child friendly - fantastic walkabout entertainment for any venue. With a themed minder and 500 gold chocolate coins to give away.

Plenty of craziness is had as Peg staggers around on one leg looking for the ol' galleon, sticking his stick where sticky sticks shouldn't be stuck!"
The Whale
Spectacular 50ft (18m) true to life, inflatable sperm whale, guarded by a noisy fishwife, who leads brave landlubbers into its belly revealing the stunning seascape of its lavishly decorated interior. Once inside they encounter a shipwrecked pirate and a treasure-hoarding mermaid and hear their extraordinary fishy tales.
