Bedford River Festival 17th & 18th July 2010 - Hot News from the River Festival Office!
Thank you to everyone who took part spectated or just chilled at the 2010 Bedford River Festival we could not have done it without you all!
Thanks to Nick Bennett and all at the Round Table for organising the 2010 Raft Races, please find a word from Nick and the results below.

What can I say, what a fantastic turn out, wonderful weather and brilliant Rafts some fantastic costumes, no casualties and lots of great Fun....Thank You all so much for your effort. The Kids from Ridgeway had a fantastic afternoon loved the boat trip and were particularly grateful not to get too covered in flour and eggs. I will be encouraging the fund raising over the next few weeks, remember there is a prize of £200 for the most money raised by the end of Sept.
Each participant only needs to collect £40 to reach our target of £15000 for the new minibus....that doesn’t sound too hard......
I am sifting through the 750 photographs that our photographer (my wife) took and I will get them up on the internet over the next couple of days... there are some crackers.
CONGRATULATIONS GO OUT TO:
First Place.... Team 20 The Star public House...in 6.51.....
Winning back the trophy for the umpteenth time.
Second Place.... Team 25 The Bedford Bears.... in 7.35....
from the Bear Pub an amazing time as this was done in a traditional raft.
Third Place.... Team 21 The Paddington Bears...in 7.38... from the Paddington Pub......
There must be something in the local beer all the winners came from Pub teams...The Young Farmers and Rugby clubs need to try harder.......
BEST DRESSED RAFTS judged by the kids at Ridgeway:
First Place.... Wadys electrical Toy story theme
Second Place.... Simply Education Super heroes.
Third Place...... Sister Project Byrne House Very Pink , the judge (Kieran) was bribed with a Kiss I can’t recall the theme, and the raft sank.....
